Bugs and known issues

Here I’ll keep a track of all bugs and issues about Intresting Links Plugin.

All of them have been reported to me by actual users of the plugin and I would like to thank them for reporting to me.
I will try to resolve them as soon as possible and make the new release.

Now Version: 0.2.14 is up, available on http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/interesting-links-list/

Version: 0.2.14

No bugs have been reported yet, but it seems that the plugin become a target for spam, bots and other annoying random submission scripts. WORKING ON IT!!!

Version: 0.2.13

At this point there was no bugs reported. But (yah there is always a but…) there seems to be a problem with ‘ and ” in all fields. So for the next release this problem will be solved. So, if no new bugs will be reported I’ll go and follow my NEW FEATURES plan ;) .

Version: 0.2.11

Known, Reported bugs

  • jQuery conflict, the jQuery version used by Interesting Links List is not compatible with jQuery used by other plugins like WP-ImageFlow2 and Lightbox 2, THANK YOU timit for reporting see comment
  • some problem on the back-end application that causes each new link to to appear on the list 10 times,  THANK YOU CK for reporting

I’ll post the solution for each bug and have a new release ready.

Keep sending problems, bugs and even suggestions! This plugin is user orientated and any feature you propose might get into the next release!

New Features

Features

I’ve been asked to improve Interesting Links Plugin so I’m taking this seriously. The first suggestion was to make a sidebar Widget for the form. I think that this might be helpful a as it is not such a good idea to have the form floating right next to the list itself.
Second improvement that I’m thinking about and it was also requested by a user (Rman) is to have the ability to generate as many list as the user wants. Each list should have a separate name and it should be inserted with [interesting list=list ID#].

As this plugin is user orientated, any suggestions are welcome!!

The first improvement, the sidebar widget shall be available from version 0.2.2 , all previous versions 0.2.1, 0.2.11, 0.2.12 and others that will be released released until version 0.2.2 will deal only with the bugs and issues.

CURRENT PROGRESS

===03/07/2010===
Version 0.2.14 will be out soon. Even though i said that till 0.2.2 there will not be any new features, v 0.2.14 will have the a new useful feature; e-mail confirmation for new link. With v0.2.14 I hope to fix all bugs that have been reported till now.

Will have sidebar Widget feature. To include sidebar Widget in this plugin might take awhile but please be patient.

Interesting Links List

Interesting Links List

Interesting Links List is a WordPress plugin that allows you to create a list of links you like and insert it on any post or pages. The interesting part is that anyone can propose and immediately submit any link. From the admin menu you can select what link to include in the list.

Features

  • allow you to create the list on your own,
  • anyone can submit link without any registration,
  • admin must approve the submitted links ,
  • links are displayed automatically in any post and page by inserting [ interesting ] in post/page body,
  • list title is editable as the submit text,
  • the submit form has Sliding Labels feature
  • Sliding Labels feature can be disabled/enabled
  • more options for showing and hiding information

Installation

Installation is like any WordPress plugin:

  • Download Interesting Links List
  • Unzip
  • Upload the interesting-links-ist directory to /wp-content/plugins on your server
  • Activate the plugin
